Visitor Visa / Tourist Visa
A visitor visa is also commonly known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). It is an official document that shows that you meet the requirements needed to enter Canada.
Almost all travelers need a visitor visa to travel to Canada. You will also require it if you are transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to the final destination.

How long can one stay?
Visitors can stay in Canada for up to 6 months in Canada.
At the time of entry, the border service officer may allow you to stay less or more than the defined time period of 6 months. And they will also write the date on your passport for leaving the country. They may also give you some documents, called a Visitor Record which will tell you the date you need to leave the country.
If you don’t get a stamp on your passport, so you can stay for 6 months you entered the country or till the date of expiration of your passport. If you think you need a stamp you can ask a border officer for it.
