Atlantic Immigration

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot runs by the partnership between Canada’s federal government and the four provinces in the region of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.

It is an employer-led pilot program that is targeted to bring the candidates to the specific region to fill job positions for which Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not available.

To hire workers through Atlantic Immigration Program, the employers do not need a Labour Market Impact Assessment. If not then they must fulfill the requirements to become designated for making job offers.

Three programs are operated under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, which is to target different category of candidates:

1) Atlantic High-Skilled Program

The Atlantic High-Skilled Program is targeted at skilled workers with professional, management, or technical/skilled job experience. The other requirement for the job offer is that it should last for at least one year.

2) Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program

The Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program is targeted at individuals who need jobs requiring a high school education and/or job-specific training. The other requirement of the job is that the job offer must be permanent.

3) Atlantic International Graduate Program

The Atlantic International Graduate Program is targeted at individuals who have a diploma, degree, or some other credentials from a publicly-funded institution in an Atlantic province. Here in this program, no work experience is required. The other requirement of the job is that the job offer must last for at least one year.
