Candidates wishing to settle in Yukon and become Canadian permanent residents can apply through four categories: 

 

  1. – Yukon Express Entry
  2. – Yukon Skilled Worker 
  3. – Yukon Critical Impact Worker
  4. – Yukon Business Nominee Program

 

1) Yukon Express Entry

 

Yukon Express Entry Skilled Worker: Candidate Requirements

 

  • – Meet the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
  • – Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
  • – Have the required settlement funds to support themselves and their families in Canada (even if their families are not coming with them).
  • – Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
  • – Plan to live in Yukon.

 

Yukon Express Entry Skilled Trades: Candidate Requirements

 

  • – Meet the minimum requirements for the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
  • – Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
  • – Have the required settlement funds to support themselves and their families in Canada (even if their families are not coming with them).
  • – Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
  • – Possess a certificate of qualification in the required skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority. To get a certificate in Yukon, the Apprenticeship and Tradesperson Qualifications authority will assess the candidate’s training, trade experience and skills to decide if they are eligible to sit an exam.
  • – Plan to live in Yukon. 

 

Yukon Express Entry Canada Experience Class: Candidate Requirements

 

  • – Meet the minimum requirements for the federal Canadian Experience Class.
  • – Be accepted into IRCC’s Express Entry pool and have an Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
  • – Have a valid, permanent, full-time job offer from an employer in Yukon.
  • – Plan to live in Yukon.

 

2) Yukon Skilled Worker Category

 

The Yukon Skilled Worker Category targets candidates for jobs in NOC skill levels 0, A and B

 

Requirements 

  • – Minimum of one year directly related work experience for the position being nominated.
  • – Education and work experience that satisfies all requirements of the job as per the criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification. Minimum high school completion.
  • – For skill levels 0 and A, candidates require the following minimum language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing depending on the test used:
    •      – CELPIP (English): Level 7
    •      – IELTS (English): Level 6
    •      – TEF (English): Level 4
  • – For skill level B, candidates require the following minimum language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing depending on the test used:
    •      – CELPIP (English): Level 5
    •      – IELTS (English): Level 5
    •      – TEF (English): Level 3

 

3) Yukon Critical Impact Worker Category

 

The Yukon Critical Impact Worker Category targets candidates for jobs in NOC skill levels C and D.

 

Requirements

  • – Minimum of six months directly related work experience for the position being nominated.
  • – Education and work experience that satisfies all requirements of the job as per the criteria specified in the National Occupational Classification. Minimum high school completion.
  • – For skill levels 0 and A, candidates require the following minimum language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing depending on the test used:
    •      – CELPIP (English): Level 4
    •      – IELTS (English): Level 4
    •      – TEF (English): Level 3

 

4) Yukon Business Nominee Program

 

The Yukon Business Nominee Program allows entrepreneurs to own and operate their business in Yukon.

 

Candidates initially come to Yukon on a two-year work permit, before being nominated for permanent residence if they successfully establish their business.

 

Yukon Business Nominee Program: Process

 

  1. – Applications that meet the program’s requirements are placed in a pool of potential candidates for six months.
  2. – Candidates selected from the pool are asked to submit documents to verify the information contained in the original application. If the application meets the eligibility requirements, candidates are invited for an in-person interview in Yukon.
  3. – After the interview, the business proposal is assessed by Yukon officials Approved candidates will be receive support in obtaining a two-year work permit from the federal government to establish the business in Yukon.
  4. – After two years, candidates meeting the requirements are nominated for permanent residence.
